I purchased this car in April 2004, on a whim. The car was in fair condition and needed
some attention. It ran sloppily so I first turned my attention to the engine and drive
train. After a new oil pump, rebuilt carb., several very well needed radiator flushes
and a transmission overhaul, I have to say, the old girl still has it in her. Not too
shabby for a stock 4.9L with at least 150,000 miles. The tires were fairly good until
the repairs were made. Just before Christmas she decided she had enough abuse so it was
time to re-fresh. I pulled everything out and began the dirty deed. I re-built the
stock 301 only because all the numbers matched down to the Turbo 350 tranny which I
sent to a local tranny shop and had it re-done. The B&M shift kit and a B&M Torque
Master 2000 converter helps. The engine was painted in the Classic Pontiac Blue instead
of the Institutional blue that it came in. It looks a hell of alot nicer that way. Some
detail was added such as steel braided hose sleeves, chrome plated pulleys, a Pioneer
sound system, new carpet, floor mats, door panels, trim, and a re-painted center
console. Now the interior looks as sweet as the exterior. I wish I had more horsepower,
but I'll settle for a dependable cruiser, with a little bit of punch. It truly is a
blast to reminisce and remember what fun it is to drive an old school ride. Enjoy my
pics and thanks to all T/A enthusiasts out there. It's a pleasure to re-join the family.
